Can we go shopping? “Ernie says “Yes, that will be fun.” Bert brushes his teeth and then they go to the big department store. First, they buy some blue pants for Bert. Next they go to the sneaker store to buy brown and white sneakers. After that, they buy Bert a new sweater. “I like this one!” says Bert. It is orange, blue and green. Finally, they ride the bus home. When they get home Bert looks at his new clothes. They are the same as his old clothes! "I guess there was nothing wrong with my old clothes after all, Ernie!"

It is morning now. Ernie and Bert are in the bedroom. Ernie is playing trumpet and Bert is sleeping. But look at Bert’s face! He is not happy because Ernie is noisy. Bert gets up and he says “Ernie, don’t make that noise! Bert is very angry. Ernie says “OK.” So Ernie goes to park to play ball with Ernie’s friend. And now, Bert is very happy because nobody will make noises. And he will have a very good sleep.

One night, Ernie couldn’t sleep. He was very bored. He wanted to play with Bert. Bert was very tired and he didn’t want to play with Ernie. Ernie felt lonely so he took out his trumpet to play. He wanted to wake Bert up. He played and played, and he didn’t want to stop. Bert used his pillow to cover his head, but he still couldn’t sleep. Suddenly, the phone rang. It was the neighbor. They said it was too noisy. Ernie felt sorry so he put away his trumpet and went to sleep.

It’s seven o’clock in the morning. It’s time for breakfast. Ernie got up, but Bert was still asleep. Today, they have a basketball championship game. They had to wake up early. They had to be at the basketball count by nine o’clock. Ernie tried to wake up Bert, but Bert didn’t get up. Finally, Ernie had a idea. He played the trumpet and said, “Attention! The 2015 basketball championship winner is…” Suddenly, Bert sat up and shouted, “Gosh, I missed the game! Did we win the game, Ernie?” Ernie said, “Nope, but if you don’t hurry, we really will miss the game!” Bert is lucky! He still has time to be at the basketball court on time!

Bert went to a party last night. He didn’t get home until three o’clock in the morning. Ernie woke up early and he was ready to go to school. They have a big test today. “Bert! Hurry! Wake up! We have to go to school now!” Bert said, “No, there is no school today. Today is Sunday.” “No, today is Monday! We have to go to school!” Bert still didn’t want to get up. Ernie got his trumpet, “Honk! Honk! We have an English test today!” Bert sat up and looked at the date on his cellphone. “What! Today is Monday!” Bert screamed! They hurried to school, but Bert failed his exam. He promised not to party until that late again.

It was Saturday morning. Ernie was practicing his trumpet. He had a show at school that night. Bert was still sleeping. He told Ernie to be quiet because he didn’t sleep well the night before. Ernie was a good boy. He went to the park to practice his trumpet. Bert slept and slept until six o’clock at night. He wake up and found a show ticket and a note on the desk. “The school show starts at seven tonight. Come and see me, you good friend!” wrote Ernie. Bert got up and ran to school. There he saw Ernie playing trumpet on the stage. They were happy!

Ernie couldn’t sleep one night. He was bored, and Bert was already asleep. He tried to watch TV, but the ball game was too exciting for him. He tried to take a hot bath, but he still couldn’t fall asleep. He tried to make some hot chocolate, but he accidentally made coffee instead! Oh, poor Ernie! Bert work up and told him to try listening to music. Ernie couldn’t find the music he liked, so he decided to play some music with his trumpet. Bert was angry that he said to Ernie, “Why don’t you try studying English? We have an English exam tomorrow.” “Good idea!” said Ernie. Ernie studied for two minutes and feel asleep right away.

At six o’clock in the morning, Bert was sleeping soundly in his bed. Ernie was awake and excited about the day. Today is his birthday and he will have party. He’s so excited that he get up and starts to play his trumpet. Ernie makes so much noise that it wakes up Bert. At first, Bert was angry but he remembered that today is Ernie’s birthday so instead of screaming, he gets up and takes a long shower. After they finish breakfast, Bert takes Ernie to the toy store and gives him a new toy robot and book. Then they go to a big park foe the party. All of Ernie’s friends are there and he’s very happy.

Then he takes out a trumpet, and blows it. Bert hears it and feels annoying. Ernie keeps blowing the trumpet for a spell. Bert finally gets up. They go to the zoo and have a beautiful day. Bert promised Ernie he won’t oversleep next time.

One morning, Ernie bought a trumpet, he liked it very much! When Bert was sleeping, Ernie was playing the trumpet. Bert couldn’t have a good sleep! Bert covered his ears. He was angry and he didn’t want to be friends with Ernie anymore. Ernie only wanted to make Bert up! Ernie was very sad, and he threw the trumpet in garbage can. The next day, Bert felt so bad because he was mean to his best friend. He took the trumpet out of the garbage can, cleaned it and gave it to Ernie in a big beautiful box. “I am so surprised!” said Ernie, “I will play it every morning!”“Oh no…” said Bert quietly.

Ernie was noisy every night. Bert hated Ernie for making noise at bed time all the time. Bert hoped Ernie could quite down, so he could have a sweet dream. One night, Ernie was still noisy. Bert couldn’t stand Ernie for being so noisy anymore! Bert was angry, but Ernie didn’t mean to upset him. He just wanted to play with Bert. Bert was sorry to lose his temper. Bert didn’t know Ernie just wanted to play with him. He wanted to cheer Ernie up, so he said, “Ok! Let’s play the musical instruments.” Ernie was glad, so he clapped hands loudly. They played the piano, the drums, the trumpet and the flute. They played every musical instrument they had. At the end, this was a good and wonderful night for both of them!

Bert was tired, so he went to bed early. Ernie wasn’t tired. “Bert! You sleep too early! Get up and chat with me!” said Ernie ”Sorry, Ernie. I’m tired. Could we chat tomorrow?” said Bert as he crawled into the bed. “I can play the trumpet for you. I just learned, “Lullaby”. I can help you sleep!” said Ernie. Then Ernie played”Lullaby” on his trumpet. “Bert! Come on! You can sing along!” Bert tried to cover his ears with his pillow but it was too noisy. Finally Bert got up and said, “Okay! I am awake! You play the trumpet and I sing along!” “No Bert. I am tired. I’m going to sleep now. You can sing along!” said Ernie.

Do you want to have a party?” Bert was surprised, “Really?” He asked. “I can have a party?” Ernie said, “Yes, I want to invite all our friends over, so we can have a party and you can sing, dance, and be happy.” They want to the party store to get ready and Bert was very happy.

Suddenly, Ernie had an idea. He said, “I know how to wake him up.” Then Ernie played his trumpet and made a lot of noise. Finally Bert woke up and covered his ears with a pillow. That made Bert really angry. When Bert saw Ernie, he didn’t feel angry anymore. It is always so much fun to be with good friends.

It was Bert’s birthday. Bert was sleeping in his bedroom while Ernie was play the trumpet and making a loud noise in Bert’s room. Bert heard the noise, so he covered his ears and felt very angry. But Ernie continued to play his trumpet until Bert woke up angrily. Bert was so mad that he scolded Ernie. Ernie said” Bert, today is your birthday. Let’s celebrate it together! After that, he gave Bert a big gift. Bert opened the gift box. It was a pillow. Bert felt so happy that he gave Ernie a big hug. After Bert opened the gifts from all his friends, they shared a big chocolate cake together. Lastly, they took a picture together. Bert thought it was his best birthday party ever!
